can imagine how surprised I was when I watched the first episode of David Attenborough’s KINGDOM series on the BBC and thought, “that looks like South Luangwa where Edward Selfe takes his wildlife photos that he kindly lets me use to paint my African Wildlife miniatures.

Then I saw the advert for the series and there was the very photo I’d used for a leopard mother & cub painting I painted for the mother and baby series I’ve put into print to sell so the profits from the prints can go to Conservation South Luangwa, of which Edward is the secretary. This is my way of saying thank you to Edward for allowing me the use of his wonderful photos.
I’ve shown all the leopard miniatures I’ve painted so far, some of which are of the leopards featured in the KINGDOM Series

Edward and I are both from Dorset and feel it’s a wonderful privilege for two Dorset men to help protect the African Wildlife with our photographs and artworks.
After an email with Edward it would appear that I’ve painted a quite a few of the cast of this series by working from the photos he’s taken of the animals over the five years that this series was filmed. I love creating the portrait series and mother & baby series which I put into print to sell and give the profits to Conservation South Luangwa to help protect and secure the future for these magnificent animals and lands.
I’ve put up all the lion miniatures I’ve painted so far, some of which are featured in the Kingdom Series.

And lastly here is the Painted Dog Miniatures again painted from Edward’s wonderful photos and featured in the KINGDOM Series.
I haven’t got around to painting the Hyenas yet as I felt they might not sell so well…..but that could well be on the horizon after the showing of this wonderful series.

I have to say I feel very privileged to have been able to paint these miniatures of the wonderful animals that live in the Luangwa national Park in Zambia, and to think I was doing it while this amazing series was being filmed and didn’t even know about it!!
